Here at Third Nature Brewing Co., we share a love for nature and good, quality craft beer. As a family of beer nerds, we pursued our dream of opening a brewery where the White Pine Trail meets the Rogue River in charming Rockford, Michigan.
Our Process
We’re committed to brewing with the highest quality local ingredients, using 100% pure RO-treated water on one of the area’s highest efficiency brewing systems. We like to push the envelope to bring you creative, innovative, and unique beers.
Our brewmaster’s, Troy Zitzelsberger, interest in beer started years ago with a family trip to Germany and a Hofbräu Hefe Weizen. He was instantly hooked and spent most of that vacation with a liter stein in each hand. Troy started home brewing while finishing studies at Michigan State and took the hobby with him when he moved to Seoul, South Korea after graduation.
He found the beer selections of South Korea lacking and in desperate need of quality craft brews. Troy immersed himself in learning all about brewing and launched a very successful home brewing club and became the first certified Cicerone in Korea.
Troy opened the country’s first craft beer taphouse featuring several of his own brews, before eventually branching off and establishing HopMori Brewing Co. HopMori turned heads by introducing Korea to what true craft beer is; creative and inventive ales full of local flavors.
Our collective goal was for Troy to come back to the US and start our brewery adventure as a family. After years of dreaming, planning, setbacks and achievements, with our brewmaster now back home in Michigan; Troy and his wife Donghee joins his brother Chad and wife Hayley, sister Lisa and her husband Bryce to bring you Third Nature Brewing Company.
